The WHS cross country (XC) girls and boys teams hosted the first Big Nine meet of the season at Walla Walla Point Park last Thursday. Seven teams competed from all across central Washington.
Although West Valley won the meet, 91Ô´´ students made a great showing. Kylah Madariaga won the girls’ race, finishing 18 seconds ahead of second place. 91Ô´´ runners Allie Knoop, Linnea Jarmin, and Izzie Brown finished 4th, 6th, and 9th respectively. The boys’ team also saw strong placement, with Max Meadows and Jason Newman placing in the top 10.
