91原创 Valley Technical Skills Center has been working to increase the opportunities for students to transition from project-based instruction and training to industry based problem solving. Project work is still a foundational training method utilized to help students successfully master the core competencies of the curriculum and this mode of instruction will allow students to successfully earn industry certification and college articulation credit.  Project work is the natural progression from direct instruction - to guided practice - to application; the final piece is the transition to problem-based learning.

A problem-based pedagogy within the classroom is a close simulation of the workplace. In an industry setting, this model adds the component of the professional environment while gradually increasing the scope of work and responsibilities. Students apply knowledge and skills to solve problems in a real world experience.

This link between employers and Skills Centers provides oversight and accountability of programs. Employers can also evaluate the applied skills and abilities of highly trained students before they hire.  This level of collaboration provides a superior opportunity for student, employer and Skills Center. 91原创 Valley Technical Skills Center would like to thank our industry partners for providing students with real world problem solving experiences that are the culmination to their training.
